Swiss Bathhouse + Luxury Design

A striking feat of luxury architecture and design, the contemporary Strandbad Seeburg on the edge of Switzerland's exclusive Lake Lucerne is the perfect place for summertime paddling – little feet or large.

Designed by local Lucerne architecture studio, GKS Architekten + Partner AG, the beautiful Strandbad beach bath and Seeburg restaurant is a contemporary, completely wooden, geometric structure that has been designed to detach itself from Küssnacht am Rigi's surrounding Swiss residential landscape, and instead effortlessly envelope itself within fluid natural lines. It is one of the most beautiful bath houses along the whole of Lake Lucerne.

Unfolding luxuriously along the shoreline, the bathhouse's long and geometric architecture creates a sense of fluidity within its surrounding natural environment – while its wooden design ensures that the building is not compact or closed, but rather works with the shore's zen-like view and lush trees to create an architectural space of striking natural wonder.

A beautiful 'roofscape' binds together the four parts of the building: the boat house, the bar and restaurant, the changing rooms and a storage for the deck chairs and umbrellas, complete with grassy top to further merge it into the landscape.

A classic feat of effortlessly natural yet luxury Swiss engineering and design, this architectural hotspot on the shores of Lake Lucerne is the perfect place for a stylish dip in the cerulean blue lake waters – be it a 'Polar Bear Plunge' or summer fling.

Just 2 hours by car from central Thun and the illustrious design hotel, the Spedition Hotel & Restaurant, Strandbad Seeburg offers an architecturally inspiring lakeside hub of cool design, wooden vibes and chilled waterside gazing – a luxury Swiss escape, oh so naturally.
